September is full of rides and bike events in the DC area – many of which the BWB leaders are participating in – so we are not scheduling a September monthly ride. Instead, hit the trails, link up with other members, and check out these local rides and events:

— Try a new trail! Some of our favorite local trails include the Mount Vernon Trail, Anacostia Trail System, Indian Head Rail Trail, Paint Branch, Northeast and Northwest Branch Trails, and Hains Point.

— 9/18: Fix-a-Flat Workshop presented by WABA’s Women & Bicycles program with Phoenix Bicycles.

— 9/21: 50 States and 13 Colonies Ride organized by WABA (both are sold out, but a number of BWB members are signed up).
Want to participate as a volunteer? Click here for more information.

— 9/21: 3rd Annual Natasha Pettigrew Memorial Ride, 7am. The ride leaves from PG County Community College (Largo). Email for details.

— 9/28: Crystal City Diamond Derby in Arlington. This is a unique race, bike party, fashion, food, and fun event for riders of all levels.

— 9/29: Tour du Port in Baltimore organized by Bike Maryland.

AND save the date for our “How to Ride Your Bike through Winter and Night” clinic Saturday, October 3. More details to come.
